A film you love on a screen right now was paid for by people like you, not by a studio. We built this around that fact: doing the jobs filmmakers can't afford to hire out, and finding the money to pay for them.
There's a lot of quiet money in independent film, people charging for "access," for introductions, for the chance to pitch. We think that's the most damaging thing in this industry, and we're not doing it.
So here's the whole model. We sell production and marketing services at a flat price. That's what we do, and it's how we earn. No hidden share of anything, no charge for simply talking to us.
One more thing, and it's the useful part: we're built to help filmmakers find the financing to cover the work they hire us for. We don't just sell you a service and wish you luck paying for it.
Every one of these is a job that a bigger film pays an agency or a department for. You either do it yourself, badly, at the end of a long day, or you don't do it, and it costs you the audience.
We don't publish prices (every film is different), but we quote flat and we quote before we start. Full service list.
The direction we're building toward. Not for sale yet, we'd rather tell you it's coming than sell you something that isn't there.
We'd rather be slow and honest than fast and vague. Every introduction we make is made by a person who has read what you wrote.
Filmmaker or backer. Two minutes, a few questions, an email address. That's the whole signup, and it stays free.
Not a matching algorithm. Someone reads what you wrote and works out who you should be talking to.
When there's a real fit, we make the introduction and stay in the conversation. Any deal happens directly between you, off our books, and we take nothing from it.
If a filmmaker we introduced to you stops responding, tell us. That's our problem to fix, not yours, and it's the difference between a company that keeps its word and a mailing list.
Whether you make films or fund them, the same question applies: what are you working on, and what would unblock it?
